The Florida A&M University Rattlers (6-2, 5-0 MEAC) clinched their first winning season since 2011 with a 38-3 triumph over the Morgan State Bears (2-6, 1-3 MEAC).

FAMU’s 5-0 winning streak is its longest since 1999, when A&M won 11 straight.

The Rattlers now only need to pick up one additional conference win to earn their first undisputed Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) title since 2001.

Junior Deshawn Smith led the FAMU ground game with 116 yards on 14 carries, while the shifty Bishop Bonnett had 61 yards on six carries, including a 36-yard run. Freshman Xavier Smith was the top receiver with four grabs for 56 yards and a TD.

QB Ryan Stanley was 14 of 22 passing for 163 yards and three scores. His performance moved him into 5th place on the FAMU career passing charts with 5,260 yards, nudging past Ben Dougherty (2003, 2004), who threw for 5,198 yards.

Linebacker Elijah Richardson led the Rattlers defensive effort with 10 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss with two QB hurries and one pass breakup. Defensive end Antoino Miller finished the day with seven tackles, one sack and three tackles for loss.
