Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) College of Law faculty members coordinated a children’s book drive that resulted in a donation of more than 250 children’s books to the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE School) in the Parramore community of Orlando.

“This is a joint effort by our FAMU Law faculty to the children of the ACE School and it is a gift of love,” said FAMU Law professor Patricia Broussard. “We are a part of the neighborhood and just wanted to remind the students we are rooting for them to succeed. And reading is the key to success.”

FAMU Law faculty donated money to purchase books from Scholastic Books in Lake Mary. FAMU Law faculty delivered boxes of books to the ACE School on Monday morning for the school’s use.

“On behalf of the FAMU Law Library, it is our privilege to participate in the FAMU Cares Book Drive to benefit students at the ACE School,” said Yolanda Jones, FAMU Law Library Director/Associate Professor of Law. “Reading is vital. The FAMU Law Library supports reading and literacy programs and encourages both children and adults to read as much as possible. This holiday season we are delighted to share the gift of books to the deserving students at the Academic Center for Excellence.”
