A committee of the FAMU Board of Trustees this morning will consider offering Kortne Gosha a 3-year contract at a base salary of $200,000.  The full board is expected to take up the contract on Thursday.  If approved, the contract which began on yesterday, December 3, 2019, will run thru December 2, 2022.

The contract will offer Gosha the usual perks --- car, cell phone, 12 comp tickets to each FAMU sporting event, and use of suite at Bragg Stadium and Al Lawson Center.   Other incentives call for Gosha to be paid $20,000 for each guarantee game paying in excess of $600,000;  $25,000 for raising in excess of $750,000 in year 1 of the agreement; $35,000 for raising in excess of $850,000 in cash in year two;  and $50,000 for raising in excess of $1 million in year-three.

The incentives are contingent on the athletic department achieving a balanced budget in each of the fiscal years.

FAMU can terminate the contract at anytime without cause, but will be liable for paying Gosha up to 20-weeks pay.   If Gosha quits in the first-year of the contract he would be liable to paying the university $40,000.  If he quits during year two of the contract that amount would drop to $20,000, and if he quits during year three the amount is reduced to $0.

Rattler Nation had previously speculated that Gosha's contract would be in the neighbor of $300,000.
