Students in FAMU’s College of Education, joined thousands of public school teachers, from all across Florida, on Monday, who marched on the Florida Capitol to demand better wages and working conditions for Florida’s teachers.

Florida ranks among the bottom 10 states in funding for students, and 47th of the 50 states in teacher pay.  Florida’s education funding hasn’t climbed above pre-recession levels from a decade ago.

The future Rattler educators thought it was important to raise their voices in support of their intended profession.  The students were joined by College of Education Dean Allyson Watson.
