Students in FAMU’s College of Education, joined thousands of
public school teachers, from all across Florida, on Monday, who marched on the Florida
Capitol to demand better wages and working conditions for Florida’s teachers.
Florida ranks among the bottom 10 states in funding for
students, and 47th of the 50 states in teacher pay. Florida’s education funding hasn’t climbed
above pre-recession levels from a decade ago.
The future Rattler educators thought it was important to raise
their voices in support of their intended profession. The students were joined by College of Education Dean Allyson Watson.
