FAMU installed 14 individuals into its 2021 Sports Hall of Fame (SHOF) Class last night at ceremonies in the Al Lawson Center. The university also formally inducted members of the 2020 SHOF Class, who were not publically recognized as in-person events were cancelled last year because of the pandemic.
"This an impressive group. I call them the 24," said, Alvin Hollins, the legendary former FAMU Sports Information Director and Chair of the FAMU Sports Hall of Fame.
"You look at the diversity we had with this group. We basically touched all sports. They represent the best of FAMU. Even the contributors like Selvin Cobb and Makeba Earst, DDS. You have people who love and FAMU and athletics. This 24 represents the best of FAMU athletics across the board."
Last night’s event was the 45th SHOF Enshrinement Ceremony.
