The Lady Rattlers volleyball team dropped its SWAC opener 3-0 to Jackson State University last night, in Jackson.
The Rattlers forced extra points in each of the first two sets, 28-26 and 26-24, before falling 25-22 in the third. Dominique Washington and Emerald Jacobs continued to guide FAMU's scoring efforts with a team-high 16 and nine kills, respectively, while Jessa Long notched 21 digs and Irem Ucar 27 assists.
The Rattlers are now 8-5 on the season, 0-1 in the SWAC. Jackson State improved to 1-10 on the season, 1-0 in the SWAC.
FAMU now travels to Mississippi Valley State, today, match time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
