FAMU grad Cecka Rose Green has been tapped to lead the Leon County Children's Services Council the search committee recommended last Friday afternoon. She is expected to oversee a budget of roughly $7 million for the organizations work to combat child poverty and hunger and to support services for Leon County children and families.
The committee unanimously voted to recommend Green, currently the regional executive director of Children’s Home Society of Florida-Big Bend Region

“I am so excited to embark on a journey that I know will make a positive difference in the lives of children and families in this community, in this county," Green said. "I look forward to working with stakeholders county-wide to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our citizens.”
Green's Delta Sigma Theta sorority sisters showed up in force to her interview and filled the left side of the County Commission Chambers. All wore red in support.
