Another new hotel is coming to the Railroad Ave & FAMU Way area. Homewood Suites by Hilton has bought a 1.2 acre parcel on the northeast corner of Railroad Ave & FAMU Way directly across the street from the Hyatt House and has submitted its construction plans to the City of Tallahassee for permitting of a 109-room extended stay hotel.
The below before and after images (above) show what the corner of this round-a-bout intersection currently looks like and what could look like in 2024 or 2025 when they finish construction.
The new hotel will be in close proximity to the Hyatt House and Citivue apartments which were recently purchased by FAMU.
Upon its arrival, the Homewood Suites, will join the Hampton Inn, Hyatt House, and Residence Inns at the latest hotels to locate within walking distance to FAMU. Hilton is also expected to open Tallahassee's first Embassy Suites Hotel, a 225 room hotel, within a mile of the FAMU campus near the corner of Gaines Street and Lake Bradford Road across from Doak Campbell Stadium. That hotel is still in the design phase.
