FAMU SJGC alumna wins Daytime Emmy Award

FAMU alum Giselle Thomasrecently won a Daytime Emmy Award at the 43rd Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards for Outstanding News Program 2021-2022 for her work as an  Associate Producer on the CBS This Morning team in New York.  

Thomas worked the overnight shifts, enabling her to work in the control room and later joined the anchor team. The award for Outstanding News Program is a group collaborative effort and involves those in front of the camera and behind the scenes. 

During Thomas’ time at FAMU, the 2018 broadcast journalism grad, served as an anchor and reporter for FAMU TV20 and the online Paradigm News Program. 

“I am truly thankful for the knowledge and tools I gained from FAMU SJGC,” she said. 

Thomas currently works as a reporter in Gainesville, FL
for CBS4 News/ WGFL.
