The FAMU community mourns the loss of beloved student affairs administrator Andre Green.   Green served as
Director of Student Activities & New Student Orientation at FAMU since 2006. A good leader leaves trails, but a great leader leaves trailblazers. Andre Green did both when it came to how he interacted with FAMU students and all he came in contact with.  He was the epitome of the university's motto: "Excellence with Caring".

During his 17-year tenure at FAMU Green served as assistant director associate director of Student Government Association & Operations, worked with the Royal Court, and Presidential Ambassadors.

He earned his bachelor's degree in human sciences from Florida State University and a master's degree in student personnel administration from the University of Central Missouri, and a doctorate in Higher Education Administration from Hampton University.

Green led the University's historic hosting of the Southern Regional Orientation Workshop this spring. FAMU was the first Historically Black College and University (HCBU) to do so.  More than 1,000 orientation leaders and professionals from more than 40 institutions from nine Southeastern states attended the three-day event.

President Larry Robinson and Vice President for Student Affairs William E. Hudson, Jr., yesterday, offered their deepest condolences to the Green family, students, colleagues, and friends at this difficult. time.

Green’s untimely passing has shocked many in the university community as FAMU has just recently completed is orientation sessions for the Class of 2027 and prepares to welcome students to campus for the fall semester.
