In a high-stakes showdown between two in-state rivals and conference foes, the FAMU baseball team faced off against Bethune-Cookman University over the weekend. Unfortunately for the Rattlers, it was the Wildcats who emerged victorious, clinching the series 2-1.

Saturday's game saw a formidable performance from Bethune-Cookman as they secured a decisive 9-3 win over FAMU. Despite putting up a valiant effort, the Rattlers were unable to overcome their opponents' strong offense and solid defense.

Sunday's matchup proved to be another challenging encounter for FAMU. Despite a closer scoreline, the Rattlers ultimately fell short once again, with Bethune-Cookman claiming a 5-3 victory to seal the series win. The Rattlers won game one of the series 4-0.

Despite the setbacks, the Rattlers remain atop SWAC East, showcasing their resilience and determination as they navigate the competitive conference landscape.

The Wildcats, meanwhile, have solidified their position as formidable contenders in the SWAC East, trailing FAMU closely in second place.

For FAMU, the losses serve as a reminder of the challenges they must overcome to maintain their position at the top, while Bethune-Cookman's victories signal their intent to challenge for conference dominance.
