FAMU Athletics, late Wednesday, announced the appointment of Brittany Beall as the new head coach of the Rattler softball program. Beall, has an extensive coaching career spanning over 16 years, brings a remarkable 257-77 career record to her new role. She is known for her ability to develop student-athletes not only on the field but also in their personal and academic lives.
Beall expressed her excitement and gratitude for the opportunity, stating, "I am incredibly honored and thankful to serve as the next head softball coach at the #1 Public HBCU. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Interim President Beard and the athletic administration for giving me this opportunity to be a part of the FAMUly." She also emphasized her commitment to building strong connections with the Rattler student body, community, and alumni.
A former Division I softball player at Auburn, Beall has a track record of leading her teams to success, including multiple state championships and postseason appearances. Most recently, she guided Eustis High School to the 2024 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) 4A State Championship. Additionally, she served as the 2024 International Team Africa Coach and has been recognized as Coach of the Year four times since 2017. She has guided over 75 of her student athletes to collegiate careers.
Beall inherits a team that finished first place in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) East Division this year with an impressive 26-20 overall record (19-5 SWAC) in 2024. Her appointment marks a new chapter for the FAMU softball program, with the expectation that her leadership will continue to foster excellence both on and off the field.
