With National signing day just around the corner, FAMU gets a committment from DuJuan Harris a 5-9, 185 lb, runnung back from Brooksvile Central High School.
Harris, who rushed for more than 1,700 yards and 18 touchdowns this past season.
"There's no doubt in my mind he can play at this level," said former Central offensive lineman Andy Leavine, who started 12 games at left tackle for D-I Florida International this year as a freshman. "I honestly think he could play at one of the big schools, but Hernando County just isn't looked at. If he were to play at a school in Hillsborough County he'd probably already be committed to a school like FSU."
Heeding his mother's advice to "take it," Harris phoned in his oral commitment to FAMU last Sunday night.
Alabama QB commits
Tobias Lee of Pike County (AL) High School said he'll be joining the Rattlers this season.
In his only season as Pike County's starting quarterback, Lee led the Bulldogs to a 14-1 mark and the Class 3A state championship - the school's third title in four years.
During the Bulldogs' successful title defense, Lee tossed 41 touchdowns, including three touchdowns in Pike County's 44-14 win over Clay County High School in the Class 3A title game.
Lee chose FAMU over Tuskegee University, Alabama State University, and Alabama A&M University.
