FAMU day at the Legislature

The annual "FAMU Day" at the Capitol is going on now. The event features food, entertainment for state leaders, employees and tourists during the busy legislative session.

The famed Marching 100 turned out in full orange-and-green regalia and the FAMU Concert Choir sang on the steps of the Senate Office Building. Dozens of nursing and pharmacy students offered check-ups for blood pressure, glaucoma and diabetes at a health fair on the Capitol's second floor.

Lord, we sure needed to be there. Whatever can help us, even if it is a gala-like extravanga. Whatever can help our school remain viable is always a good thing.
