The FAMU Board of Trustees, yesterday, settled a lawsuit by former FAMU Inspector General Michael Brown. WCTV reported that, FAMU improperly dismissed Mr. Brown and damaged his professional reputation.
Michael Brown, as you may recall, was unceremoniously fired by former interim president Castell Bryant for looking into possible wrong doing by her administration. Mrs. Bryant's actions were backed up by former FAMU BOT Chair Challis Lowe. Bryant actions seemed to express complete disdain that Mr. Brown would display unmitigated gall by actually trying to do the job he was paid to do.
To back up her actions, Bryant and former VP of Audit & Compliance Rufus Little handpicked an outside auditor to investigate Mr. Brown's wrongful termination complaint. Not surprisingly, Mrs. Bryant got the outcome she sought.
Mr. Brown was forced, by Mrs. Bryant, to clear his name by filing suit in the local courts. As with so many other lawsuits filed against FAMU during the Bryant administration, the university quickly settled.

ReplyDeleteBryant truly left FAMU's legal affairs in a mess. Her henchwoman, Elizabeth McBride, should be brought up on professional malpractice charges.
