On Sunday, the National Collegiate Athletic Association
(NCAA) announced that the FAMU softball team will face the University of
Florida in Gainesville this Friday in the first round of the 2015 championship tournament. UF
holds the No. 1 overall national ranking.
The Lady Rattlers earned the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference
championship and an NCAA automatic bid with their 2-0 win over the Wildcats of
Bethune-Cookman on Saturday. It is the sixth automatic berth seeding since
1999.
