FAMU (10-20 overall, 3-0 MEAC) won Friday’s opener, 4-1, then wrapped up the series with a doubleheader sweep Saturday morning, 5-3 and 10-6.
In Friday’s 4-1 win, the defending MEAC champions and preseason favorites doubled up NCCU, 8-4, in the hit column on the way to the three-run victory. In Saturday’s 5-3 and 10-6 doubleheader sweep by FAMU, the Rattlers finished with 23 hits in the games moved to early morning to avoid showers and thunderstorms forecast for later in the afternoon.
