FAMU Rugby Team participates in first-ever HBCU Rugby Classic

The Florida A&M University Rugby Team, led by student coach, Robert Leeks, and faculty advisor Roscoe Hightower, participated in the first-ever Historically Black College and University (HBCU) Rugby Classic on May 5 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

The 2018 HBCU Rugby Classic was a one-day rugby event that featured teams from HBCUs around the nation, including Prairie View A&M University and Morehouse College. Thousands attended the event or streamed it live on Gift-Time Rugby Network.

The HBCU Rugby Classic is a cultural entertainment event, for sports fans and families of all ages, which puts a spotlight on community opportunity, empowerment and positive messaging.
