FAMU hosted its fourth Energy Water Food Nexus International Summit, April 11-13, bringing together participants from across the USA and around the globe, and as far away as South Africa, to examine the threat posed by climate change on our planet.

“This international summit is important because it elevates the conversation around climate change and focuses on the importance of collective action, the importance of collaboration and leadership,” said Eunice Heath, director of Sustainability at Dow Inc. one of the conferences sponsors, along with the US Department of Energy.   Health was honored at the Conferences’ gala and presented the Nexus International Thought Leader Award.

The Summit not only facilitated collaboration, but also helps students understand how they could work with government agencies, non-government organizations (NGOs) and industry.

The conference had four thematic tracks --- science enterprise, accelerated innovation, science-based policy & decision making, and global access to safe water.
