We've been keeping our ear to the ground this week... And, I gotta tell you, sometime it pays to get out of the office. Today, I was speaking with a former staffer of the FAMU recruiting office, who now heads the recruitment efforts at another HBCU (which by-the-way finished 3rd last year in the recruitment of National Achievements Scholars). This guy said he left FAMU because recruitment was no longer a focus and that the office was being dismantled. He left under the Gainous administration, but gave me the following question to ponder with respecting to what's now happening at FAMU. What good is a $5 million surplus if you take a $16 million financial hit in decreased enrollment?
Only Castell and Co. can answer that.
