It's hard to overlook Tallahassee Community College's recent annoucement that it reached its 3-year, $10 million, fundraising goal in one year. See: TCC Tops $10 million
TCC is certainly to be commended for exceeding its goal by $245,303 and doing it two years ahead of schedule. The fact that FAMU probably hasn't raised $10 million since Fred Humphries left is who's fault? Despite the fact that the University paid Love Collins more than $240,000 to do what? And, Love's replacement Ronald "I love fireworks" Joe has been a sorry place holder. To keep it real, Mr. Joe wouldn't know a development plan if you put five of them in front of him.
Truth-be-told, in the fundraising/corporate relations area FAMU has been going nowhere fast! No scholarship dollars. No corporate contributions. No nothing!
I thought Collins raised $250 million dollars. What happened to that money?
ReplyDeletehe didn't raise $250 million. He set up a campaign to raise $250 million, which was shut down by the BOT and it's chairman Jim Corbin near the Gainous firing.
ReplyDeleteExcluding the research dollars brought in by professors, TCC is handing the FAMU nation it's collective ass in fundraising.
If Love Collins raised $250 million, I did!
ReplyDeleteLove Collins did claim to have raised $23.8 millions during the silent phase of the $251 million five-year campaign. What happened to that money?
ReplyDeleteAlso, Castell claimed to have found an $8 million surplus at FAMU. What happened to that money? Auditors are apparently having a hard time finding it, since the audit report is more than six months late.
Love Collins also claimed to be a "fundraiser", he wasn't. So what makes his claim about raising $23.8 million believable?
ReplyDeleteCorrect me if I'm wrong but, wasn't that $23.8 million (Hannah said $41 million) the result of a grant that the university received- that he had nothing to do with acquiring??? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing worse than Love Collins is his mf replacement!
ReplyDeleteDon't be angry at Joe. We knew he didn't have experience at raising funds when Castell hired him. He has done a good job within his capabilities.

ReplyDeleteAnd what is that?
Kissin' arse.

ReplyDelete"Kissin' arse" is an ignorant response.
Hiring Castell Bryant was an ignorant response to FAMU's leadership crisis. Anyone who thinks that JUCO administrators are qualified for FAMU's presidency has no clue about university-level education.
ReplyDeleteThe bad hiring decisions at the VP-level simply reflect the terrible presidential hires that FAMU's BOT has made.
"Kissin Arse is ignorant"
ReplyDeleteExactly, so can someone tell me why we still have Col Joe as VP for Dev?
What has he raised so far? He's been in the development office since '02 as a senior level administrator.
