"The creditability of Florida A&M University is at stake. FAMU's current state of affairs is a reflection of this board's actions, inactions and your leadership in particular, as chairperson," said National Alumni President Alvin Bryant to Chair Challis Lowe today. (Lowe pictured here)
The RN news network has been keeping its ear to the ground, today. This is going to be a very long weekend for Castell. It seems that spin doctors Castell and Challis’ support base is slowly eroding in the mist of “botched up vice president and dean searches” and wholesale firings, just before an emergency board meeting on Monday, June 12.
The street committee says key long-time central and southern
Alumni and supporters feel that the board has dragged its feet two long years in their search for a permanent President and can't wait until 2008. After Fred Gainous, many thought it couldn’t get any worse.
And so is that of the Alumni Association if our own President (or his cronie, cause we know he didn't write that letter), can't use proper english.
ReplyDeleteIt's CREDIBILITY you clown!
its about damn time.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mr. Bryant! We've been patient enough. The BOT has deliberately dragged its feet on the presidential search and sat by idlely while the interim CEO wrecked financial havoc on our institution.
ReplyDeleteThe time for silence is over. It's time to lift our voices and demand accountability.
Alvin Bryant is right. Challis Lowe is an inept, conniving, ruthless official. She has supported the interim administration's reckless legal decisions, cuts to research, attacks against shared governance, and poor financial accounting practices.
ReplyDeleteBut by far, Lowe's stupidest and most inexcusable action was downplaying the importance of recruitment in the media. She stated, as board chairperson, that student recruitment was not a priority for FAMU. That is ignorant and idoitic beyond comprehension!
Could you imagine Lowe telling her bosses at Dollar General that there is no need to reach out to new customers? She would be fired on the spot! So then why in the hell is she saying that FAMU does not need new customers? Anyone who does not understand the important of student recruitment does not belong anywhere near FAMU!
Lowe MUST GO!
Why did it take so long for everyone to get mad enough to get vocal. Let's hope that we do not have another show on the chittlin circuit with this emergency board meeting on Monday.
ReplyDeleteThe alumni and board also need to take a look at all the firings that Bryant has initiated over the past year. Bryant has also alledgedly engaged in initimidating and mafioso style behavior against the plaintiffs/ former employees of the University.
This behavior has ranged from spreading voodoo dust in former/fired employees and placing rattlesnakes in their mail boxes.
Bryant, Holmes, Lowe-peopel see you for the manipulative-hateful negroes that you are. You all have got to go.
Anonymous @ 10:20 p.m., you got the damn message. Enough said.
ReplyDeleteWhy is every post to this blog so negative towards the school. You're getting worse than the Democrat for bad press.
ReplyDeleteThere are POSITIVE stories on the school developing.
Dear Famuan- Let us not forget that a few spoiled apples in the barrel can spoil the bunch. The fact remains that the few positive things going on at the school were/are being overshadowed by Bryant and her cronies on the board. You can not deny that.
ReplyDeleteIn order to protect those positive things going on at the school -we must root out the evil being done against in the "interim" by the Interim.
FAMU most remain an upper tier HBCU and if Bryant has her way- well the proof is in the pudding.
If we're not careful , we'll end up just like the alumni from Morris Brown College...sitting around wondering what happened to our school.
FAMUAN,
ReplyDeletePlease feel free to read our archieves. There are positive stories there. We would welcome the opportunity to publish good/great news about what's going on at FAMU.
Just tell us what it is. The fact that the University doesn't regularly send out press releases, or share its own "good news" isn't our fault.
He're my email address, send me some good news stories: AnMRattler@yahoo.com
FAMUAN,
ReplyDeleteI read this blog daily. There have been articles regarding athletics, grants the university has received, graduation, and achievements by students and professors.
It has been pretty fair and balance.
I enjoy reading it.
Well, it's official. Challis Lowe has canceled the emergency meeting on Monday because Castell Bryant told her that a moritorium on personnel changes is "off the table."
ReplyDeleteWho in the hell is in charge of this univeristy? The BOT or interim president? How can the interim president tell the BOT that it cannot meet to discuss a particular issue?
It's clear that C. Bryant accomplished what she wanted. The 8 laid off professors were given 5 days to get lost. Since the next BOT meeting is not until the end of the month, there is nothing R.B. Holmes can do to save his dismissed SBI faculty church-members.
Holmes engaged in backdoor manipulation in order to get Bryant seated as interim president. Now, his connivance has come back to bite him. Just as Holmes breached procedure to undermine the interim presidential selection process, Bryant has breached procedure in order to get rid of employees that she does not want.
FAMUan,
ReplyDeleteThis blogpost posts more positive FAMU stories than www.famu.edu. Rattler Nation is updated everyday with the good and the bad.
Most of the time, Rattler Nation posts positive FAMU stories long before the Capital Outlook, which is the interim president's biggest pom pom-tosser.
Where did Challis Lowe even come from? Why did she decide to join FAMU's BOT in the first place? What does she really want?

4. That can be assigned.
I like number 2. "Worthy of belief"
But then, I ain't as smart as you.
