"How To Profit from Tradegy"
The board of trustees chair called a emergency board meeting last Friday ( July 14, 2006) which was held by phone. Several events took place prior to and during this meeting.

Prior to the meeting, Trustee Diallo contacted Chair Lowe to request that two additional subjects be added to the agenda. Trustee Diallo was referred to the corporate secretary (Castell) for an email response with instructions to copy the full board. Chair Lowe could have easily responded affirmative to the requests to add the Hollins Group’s dean contract and SBI 8 (now 10) to the agenda. Secondly, members of the FAMU UFF were denied admission during the public board meeting and sent to a holding cell in Lee Hall. After they were unable to hear the proceedings of the meeting from the holding cell, they tried to gain entry to the president's conference room, where the telephone meeting was being staged, but were denied admission by FAMU police officers. The UFF stood their ground and demanded access based upon their rights granted by the Florida Statutes. Ironically, just two months ago, Castell, the FAMU community and the City of Tallahassee recognized former FAMU students who were lead by former SGA President Brodes Hartley to protest the injustices against blacks in 1956 by white Tallahasseans. To deny access and have these injustices perpetrated again in 2006 by Castell & Co. is unbelievable.

For anyone to suggest that FAMU is on the road to stability is like leaving a crack head to guard the crack supply, because they promised they are cured.

The problems at FAMU have become so deeply rooted over the last five years, and many of the origins can be traced back to the several inaugural members of the board of trustees Castell Bryant and R. B. Holmes, and two key members of the board of regents, Adam Herbert and James Corbin. Although, not one could have done anything without the full support of the governor and the chair of the board of governors.

  1. This whole thing with Castell is turning into some kind of "B" rated TV show that has three runs before it's canceled. I am just rating for the news to report she has been canceled like a bad show.

  2. RN says:
"Yet, madame President continues to refer to Mr. Little as Attorney Little and Mr. Tromly as more highly qualified than Mr. Brown. We will provide their qualifications later and you be the judge."
I am anxiously waiting to see their qualifications.

  3. RattlerNation,

Can you repost the qualifications with its own post? A lot of people might miss this important updated post.

  4. Okay how is Tromly more qualified than Mike Brown or Hart for that much?

  5. Does anyone have Tromly and Little's resumes? I can't see how Challis Lowe claimed that Tromly's professional and educational background is superior to Brown's if he doesn't even possess a graduate degree, let alone meet the minimum qualifications for the inspector general's position, i.e., CPA.

Damn these people are starting to believe their own hype. This is ridiculous. Someone should investigate Tromly's qualifications and make them public, because from what I am reading he may have been qualified only for the position that he occupied and that's it.
