Under Castell Bryant's leadership tuition and fees have increased nearly 20% and are among the highest in the SUS.
And what does she have to show for it?
• 2,300 fewer students
• Alarming budget cuts
• Zero National Achievement Scholars
• Plummeting SAT/ACT scores for incoming freshman
• Declining GPAs for incoming freshman
• One of the lowest graduation rates in the state
• Low faculty morale
• One of the worst audits in over 20 years
• Declining Corporate and Foundation Support
• And, over 115 new law suits
Castell Bryant --- a legacy of meaness, divisiveness, and ineffective leadership. FAMU can ill afford another 300 days of her reckless leadership.
When will the faculty issue a vote of no confidence? When will the BOT wake up?

You haven't heard of any lawsuits?!? There is currently a year and a half wait to bring a new lawsuit to court against FAMU because of the large number of suits that have yet to be handled. Shocking isn't it?

ReplyDeleteApparently two things are happening with you: 1--you're an arse-kisser and Castell is your favorite girl, and 2--you are not affiliated with the university and don't know dip about what is going on there, because if you were an employee of the university, you would not be so quick to say such a thing, unless, of course, you were kidding, but I fear that you were not.
Lawsuits is CVB's middle name. There are tons of them out there. There's no secret society regarding that part of her presidency. Listen up and talk to folk.

ReplyDeleteEverybody can just quit talking about this No Confidence vote measure. What sense does that make? The woman will be gone in four months. Who's going to institute such a thing at this time? The BOT is not going to consider such an irrational move at this date and time. Makes no sense. And then, of course, what does Castell Bryant care about a No Confidence vote against her? The woman is retired, collects social security benefits and that gargantuan salary from FAMU. Put up another argument or position on this board, because that suggestion is just ridiculous. The woman alreadys knows how the faculty feels. Who's going to even suggest a measure to remove her with less that120 days left in her administration. Plus, a No Confidence vote for a REAL president is not a simple process or procedure. Let our comments be smarter and more intelligent than this suggestion or comment about a No Confidence vote. Why such a measure for such a person who's already wreaked untold havoc upon the university? It takes months & months to get a president to leave. And her leaving is not hurting HER. The woman is already set, financially and socially, for life. She said so--off the record-- in a faculty address last spring. We're all better than many of our comments suggest that we are. Give the No Confidence talk a rest. It's not gonna happen.

Has she not shown in every measure of her administration that she SIMPLY DOES NOT GIVE TWO RIPS about what anybody cares or thinks? Also, the board is not going to "wake up." They've been asleep every day since Castell got there. Coffee ain' gone keep them awake.
ReplyDeleteOne thing for sure, history will not look on this time as a highlight in FAMU's history and don't be surprised if someone selects this as a research project titled "What Happens with a Runaway IP Under Impotent BOT."
ReplyDeleteI understand that a Professor at FSU is already doing such a study. I am sure it was motivated by you know who (Cassie). I am interested in reviewing this study when it has been published. I will keep you posted as I find out more about it. I can tell you that it is nearing completion.
