The Florida A&M Marching 100 marched into the homes of, an estimated, 80 millions Americans this evening, and before 200 million viewers worldwide, halftime at Super Bowl XLI in Miami tonight. This was the 100's fourth Super Bowl appearance. This year the band backed up music icon Prince.
By-the-way, Prince looked good in his orange & green!

ReplyDeleteYes you did!
ReplyDeleteOops! Sorry, da. I thought that VRG sent you those pics. My bad.
ReplyDeleteWe are waiting on VRG to send in some photos. This may take a min.
ReplyDeleteWe are trying to upload the video to youtube now.
Cool. I gotta edit some tape and roll it over into a DVD to send out.
ReplyDeleteThe 100 did well. Julian sold them out though.
ReplyDeleteman it was such a proud moment! I was so excited and geeked!!!!!
ReplyDeleteY'all just gon glow in the mf dark? Really?

ReplyDeleteEither please explain your comment, if you can, or we'll assume that you don't know what you're talking about.
The band got about $10.4 million (2 mins) of good TV time. And they got sold out on an all expense paid trip, please!
ReplyDeletedid they get new uniforms? I saw the glo in the dark? man that exposure was priceless me and all those millions of people saw that game and saw FAMU and all those beautiful black musicians...sometimes you cant put a price on that. We will benefit in other ways.
ReplyDeleteThat was the best Super Bowl halftime show yet!
ReplyDeleteWe will benefit in other ways.
ReplyDeleteMany other ways. Some kneegrows think that, if you're not getting a dollar in hand, you're getting nothing. This group was seen WORLDWIDE!!! You can't buy that kind of advertising/promotion. When we step to corporate donors and the like, they will have an idea that, if we excel to a point where we're sought out by the best entertainers in the business, then why not partner with us to ride on that exposure. Winners attract winners. Winner write checks that we can use to further FAMU's mission.

^^^^^^I co-sign on that!
ReplyDeleteThe 100 was great as always. I wore my Alumni Sweatshirt to class today (I'm in medical school) and random people were telling me how much they loved the show. Gotta love that!
What a show!!! The best band on the land and the best musical artist and performer on the land and sea.
ReplyDeleteHalf-time shows don't get better than that. FAMU can not put a price on that type of exposure.
The BCC contingent is hopping mad because we were CHOSEN rather than having to apply. They applied back in July. The "100" never applied to be in the show, but... We are who we are...
ReplyDeleteThe best band in the land, second to none-----by request!!!
Hmmm.., the same sponsors you seem to think will come our way definitely put a price on Super Bowl air-time. Where is our cut?! Respectfully.., and what are WE eghem (the band), going to do with these resources? Housing and academic support should be followed by physical training staff and student excellence programs. We'll suck it up on the Monkey Band shows if there is a true program to match the Prototypical concept and design of the A&M Marching Band.
ReplyDelete^^^And all of this is going to happen 3 days after the Halftime show? Obviously, some business school students paid attention in class. Sorry you weren't one them.
ReplyDeleteYou want everything right now. Well, the breaking news is that it doesn't happen that way. The benefits/dividends will come.
