We screwed up! Last week we reported that FAMU had settled with former inspector general Michael Brown. Our story which was published here, was based on reports aired on local Tallahassee TV station WCTV Ch6.

As it turns out, the settlement talks between Mr. Brown and FAMU are continuing. Brown, filed suit in Leon County Court last December, after he was shown the door for nvestigating allegations that former interim president Castell Bryant and other top FAMU officials were distorting the true picture of university finances.

We apologize to our readers for the false report.

  1. Ain't nothing correct about Mr. Brown. He was wrong and that's why Castell got rid of his two-faced azz.

  2. Looks like Liz McBride is still on the loose.

Michael Brown was right and called Castell Bryant out on her lies about FAMU's finances.

The state auditors blasted CVB for falsely claiming that she didn't know about Brown's investigation.

"Our audit disclosed correspondence from the former Inspector General to the President indicating the President was aware of and had requested the review," Monroe wrote in FAMU's most recent operational audit, "and we visually observed the work papers supporting the review."

  3. Looks like MBrown is playing the FAMU lottery. I hope the courts are sane.

Getting caught in a management fire storm does not give you the right to steal from the Florida tax payers.

I hope he gets treated fairly...and ONLY failry.

  4. The point is he needs to clear his name and have his reputation restored, the same as Billy Joe had to do. Castell was wrong and that is the genesis of the problem, not Mr. Brown.

  5. Suing after one has been wrongfully terminated is not stealing.

  6. Get that money Mr. Brown. He is a proud FAMU alum, but these actions are necessary. These are the vestiges of the Bush crony Corbin-Casthell regime.
