In the wake of the tragic shooting that occurred on the campus of Florida State University (FSU) this morning, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) President Elmira Mangum has announced that the university campus will be open to FSU students who need to utilize library services, study areas, food services, and other venues as they prepare for final examinations and graduation.

According to Mangum, students who present their FSU student ID will have access to any on-campus resources that will assist the students in carrying on with their daily academic routine.

“We extend our thoughts and prayers to everyone impacted by the unfortunate event that occurred at FSU this morning,” Mangum said. “We stand ready and available to assist the students, staff, faculty, and administrators in any way we can. We all share the common goal of providing educational opportunities for our students and FAMU is committed to working with FSU during this unfortunate circumstance and throughout the academic year.”

Mangum added, “We also want to assure our students and parents, faculty and staff that the University remains proactive in ensuring that our campus is safe and secure.”
