Coach Willie Simmons, and his staff, opened to doors to Bragg Stadium wide this past Saturday to some of the elite football prospects locally, regionally and from all across the state of Florida at his annual Willie Simmons Elite Prospect Football Camp.
More than 200 high school athletes were on hand. Campers gained instruction from the Rattler football staff and a handful of current FAMU football players. There was also a handful of former Rattlers, most of them current high school coaches.
The camp, which was the second of coach Simmons’ elite prospect camps this summer, also provided the FAMU staff an opportunity to get familiar with many high school athletes, evaluate them and give them some pointers.
The high school athletes, themselves, were all looking to improve their skills with an eye toward standing out and potentially getting an offer to play at the next level.
