Trump to deliver remarks at HBCU Week Conference

President Donald Trump will address presidents and attendees attending this year’s White House Initiative on HBCUs National HBCU Week Conference which starts tomorrow in Washington, DC.

More than1,800 people are expected to attending the annual event that brings together representatives from HBCUs.  The White House Initiative on HBCUs was created in 1981 by President Ronald Reagan.

It has been over two years since the presidents and chancellors of many HBCUs traveled to Washington D.C. to meet with Trump at the White House. Trump then signed an executive order in March 2017 moving the initiative on HBCUs back into the White House from the Department of Education. He also reestablished the President’s Board of Advisors on HBCUs.


It is not yet clear where the president will be making his remarks.
