FAMU prof co-edits book addressing income for farmers in India

Odemari Stephen Mbuya, a professor in the College of Agriculture and Food Sciences at  Florida A&M, recently co-edited “Strategies to Double the Farmers’ Income: A Gujarat Perspective."
The book was written in response to India Prime Minister Honorable Nerandra Modi's initiative to double farmers’ income by 2022, and it will be officially released by Acharya Devvrat, governor of Gujarat and chancellor of state universities.
In 2017, FAMU signed a memorandum of understanding with Anand Agricultural University which allowed Mbuya to continue to collaborate with India's scientists. His work with India focuses on global food security through research, training, extension and outreach.
Mbuya has a 30-year career in agriculture, life sciences and sustainable ecosystems. He has worked as a research scientist in Tanzania, the Centro Internacional de agricultura Tropical in Colombia, and as a consultant and volunteer representing the United States Department of Agriculture and FAMU in South Africa and India.
