FAMU Athletics, on yesterday, announced the hiring of Ron Reeves, as Associate AD for Revenue Generation. Reeves comes to FAMU after serving as the Assistant Athletic Director for Development at Southern Illinois University – Carbondale. SIUC competes in is a NCAA Division 1 FCS school and a member of the Missouri Valley Conference.
"We are excited to welcome Ron to our family and the Highest of Seven Hills," said Athletic Director Kortne Gosha. "As we realign our staff, our strategic plan focuses on external affairs and revenue generation operations. Ron's external and development experience will enhance all areas of our department. Ron's background brings a diverse skillset and institutional demographic. In his role he will oversee communications, ticketing, marketing, the Rattler Athletic Fund, vending, licensing and corporate partnerships."
During his time at SIUC, Reeves led the Saluki Athletic Scholarship Fund (SASF), the official fundraising arm for the Athletics Department. Under his guidance, the SASF set records including: annual fund $1.2 million, Giving Tuesday $44K, and SIU-C Day of Giving $202K. Reeves created the SASF branding campaign Saluki Stories, telling the stories of student-athletes, donors, and administration. Reeves also oversaw the Saluki Wheels Club, premium inventory for football and basketball, and stewardship. Reeves's team oversaw the S Club (Letterman) that created the initiative of Legacy Plaza, a paver campaign that placed personalized bricks of recognition. Reeves was a part of the team that secured SIUC's largest corporate naming rights deal with Banterra Bank that rebranded SIU Arena as Banterra Center. This 10-year naming-rights agreement offers up to $10 million for SIU-C, with a $4-million guarantee for the first 10 years.

Prior to SIUC, Reeves served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Ticket Sales & Event Operations at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee (UWM).
