The FAMU men's basketball team defeated Alabama State 66-65 to win their seventh straight game. FAMU improved to 9-11 (7-2 SWAC) on the season.
The Rattlers led the Hornets for 37 minutes, leading by 12 points at halftime. The Rattlers had a 42-31 lead with 17:22 remaining before the Hornets went on a 36-22 run to take their first lead of the game 65-64 with 2:31 remaining.
In the final seconds, FAMU relied on forward Bryce Moragne , a grad student, to seal the victory by making two free throws with 21 seconds remaining in the game to put the Rattlers up by 66-65. Morgane then grabbed the game's final rebound after the Hornets missed the potential game-winning shot.
Women drop their 5th straight
The Lady Rattlers (2-17 overall, 2-6 SWAC) lost to the Hornets 73-57. The Hornets scored 17 points off of Rattler turn overs and were allowed 38 points in the paint, and 23 second chance points.
