Bill Hayes
President Ammons moved with stealth precision in naming a replacement for former athletic director, Nelson Townsend. Mr. Bill Hayes will replace the former AD on January 2, 2008 with a starting salary of $175,000 with a three year contract. Mr. Bill Hayes has a track record of turning troubled athletic programs around with creative marketing schemes that increase fan based giving.
Also, President Ammons is looking forward to an emergency board meeting to request a waiver on advertising the head football coach position.
Stay tuned!
Hot Damn!
ReplyDeleteNuRattler you taking after your daddy!
Hey RN, what's the deal on this guy. What has he been able to do at NCCU?
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that President Ammons didn't waste time!

"Also, President Ammons is looking forward to an emergency board meeting to request a waiver on advertising the head football coach position. "
Does this mean that he may already have a replacement in mind? Either way, I'm eager to see who replaces Carter.
I am listening to the board meeting and I think I am willing to give Mr. Brown a chance. I agree 110% that the board members should put their money where their mouth is. Money talks, all else walks.
ReplyDeleteThis is guy is no novice! Let's give him a chance. It definitely paid off for NCCU.

If Hayes implements the same fundraising tenacity at FAMU as he had at NCCU, we'll be going to the moon and beyond. If those chumps at NCCU can come up with $1 million, imagine what we can do with the FAMU Rattler Alumni/fanbase. Fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI think that it is clear that coach Broadway and staff will lead our football program the next couple of years.
ReplyDeleteYou know, Chair Jennings really gave Ammons and his leadership their props. It's a new day on the hill and I am thrilled.
ReplyDeletelol looks like famu is truly lil NCCU now lol

ReplyDeleteI don't think so. Don't insult FAMU in this manner please.
no offense to NCCU though, but FAMU isn't lil nccu.
ReplyDeleteNuRattler, can we please keep people like 12/04/2007 10:11 AM from spreading libel on this blog?
ReplyDeleteHere come the cronies!
ReplyDeleteMaybe thats a good thing.
Yeah, there were Castell cronies all over this blog during the presidential search trying to trash Ammons and his team. I guess we shouldn't be surprised now.
ReplyDeleteGrambling State University & former North Carolina Central University head football coach
ReplyDeleteRod Broadway has been seen in Tallahassee with a Realtor.
Anyone willing to guess who our next coach is now?
I'll believe you when you tell us the name of the realtor he was seen with.
ReplyDeleteBTW, has anyone see Castell in Tally Ho?
Somebody is a hypocrite on this blog! First, you were complaining about not looking outside of FAMU for "new blood". Ammons brings people from the outside, now you are still complaining. You are asinine to think Ammons should not use proven relationships to REBUILD FAMU! CVB did and it almost killed us. You cannot solve problems on the same level that they were created. First you wanted new blood; now you also want to determine the blood type. Get over yourself, and support our university's survival!- '95 Grad!
ReplyDeleteHayes appears to be a short timer and is making substantially less than Nelson Townsend did!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is Ammons is quick on the $$ with this kind of turnaround. But we all know, that before he came--but knew that he would be coming--he had all of his duckies lined up. This isn't some new thing just because Carter had a miserable record this year and Townsend was asked to resign. All this was in the cards when Ammons first got the inkling to apply for the job. Come on. We all know this, right?
ReplyDeleteHowever it happened, good riddance to Carter and Townsend.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the New FAMU!
THIS IS GREAT. Bill Hayes is a legend in my home state of North Carolina and he will turn this program around.
ReplyDeleteI dont mind the rattlers coming back from nccu to home...but all these nccu people bother me...we are FAMU! I dnt like this--especially if homeboy is touchy feely!
ReplyDeleteHuh? Why does that matter?
ReplyDeleteNuRattler, there's quite a bit of libel being spewed about Mr. Hayes. Let's not let people take this blog down the trashy route.
ReplyDeleteCensorship is so ugly. Why are you asking nurat to censor?
