Rattler Nation has learned that new Head Coach Alex Wood is shaking up the football program’s staffing ranks. From what this site has been told the changes will include replacing former Interim Head Coach Corey Fuller, who was a semi-finalist for the permanent job, and all but one other assistant coach.

Back on Oct. 28, former Athletic Director Kellen Winslow fired Head Coach Earl Holmes. The remaining eight assistant coaches were given 60-day non-renewal notices on that same day.

Wood’s predecessor, an NFL veteran, mainly hired former NFL players to serve as his assistant coaches back in 2013. The new head coach did not play professional football but held assistant coaching positions on three NFL teams. He has not publicly hinted about what type of experience he will look for as he builds his own coaching squad.
