Florida A&M head football coach Rubin Carter fired defensive backs coach Richard Shelton less than a year after hiring him.
"I felt it was necessary to make a change after conducting our annual staff evaluation," Carter said. "That is the only thing I have to say about the matter at this time."
After seven seasons in the NFL, Shelton became defensive backs coach at University Christian High School in Jacksonville, Fla. in 1997, a position, he held for three seasons before becoming the Southeast College Scout for the Philadelphia Eagles (2000-04).
Shelton and Carter have different versions of what necessitated the change. All we know for sure is that Shelton will not be a part of the Rattler coaching staff this season.
We are hearing that FAMU could be experiencing other administrative changes, at the highest level, early next week. We'll keep you informed.
I can only HOPE that Huff is next.
ReplyDeleteStop It! Just S-T-O-P. You guys have no sense of history. Huff has perfected the laydown defense. He is a master at that. Instead of trying to run the man out of town, you SHOULD be trying to learn something from him. How many times in life would you have been better off just letting someone run roughshod over you? How many times have you reflected, "I should have just laid down."
ReplyDeleteIf you're like me, there have been numerous times in life where the "old college try" just wasn't worth it. I should have just laid down.
Huff promotes MEAC offense. Against FAMU, every running back runs like he is Walter Payton's love child. Huff understands MEAC football is bigger than FAMUs defense.
Huff is smart enough to understand that in the grand scheme of things, FAMU's defense is not that big of a deal. You people need to Chill-LAX.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! You stoopid funny!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhere does Billy Joe enter? The staff could really use him. He's magnanamous.
ReplyDeleteCoach Shelton is better off away from carter. Carter lacks personal skills and shows no respect for black people. Shelton has NFL experiences and I bet you he will be back on a NFL team before the college season start. How can a man with so much football background not have the football skills to coach at famu? I think it's the head coach, who should go!
