Jeopardy!, the TV game quiz show, will visit Florida A&M University Tuesday, January 29, and Wednesday, January 30 to find FAMU administrators, faculty, staff, students and alumni to be contestants for both the College Championship and regular shows.
FAMU is one of six colleges and universities in the U.S. and the only historically black college or university that Jeopardy! will visit.
“We think Florida A&M University is a great university,” said Maggie Speak, Jeopardy! contestant executive. “We are really excited about going to the university.”
To be eligible for the College Championship, interested individuals must be a full time student with no previous bachelor’s degree. To be a contestant for the regular show, individuals must be 18 years of age or older.
So I would assume this eliminates professors, many staff members, and grad students since you not eligible if you have received a bachelors degree to participate. Good luck to the undergrads who can compete.
ReplyDeleteJeopardy is looking for two different groups of contestants:
ReplyDelete(1) To be eligible for the College Championship, interested individuals must be a full time student with no previous bachelor’s degree.
(2) To be a contestant for the regular show, individuals must be 18 years of age or older.
This DOES NOT eliminate those who are eligible based on the two criteria above. If you are an undergrad, you can try out for group #1. If you are an employee, you can try out for group #2.
This will eliminate Graduate Students, unless they are employees.... then they can audition for group #2.
WOW! What a great opportunity for FAMU to spotlight its intellects. I sure wish I was still employed there so that I could audition for the show. Just think! You can wear your Rattler gear and be seen by millions all over the world. And if they just happen to pick a SMART one who can also perform under pressure on television, the University can get a major RECRUITMENT BOOST!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope no one on this Blog tries to put a negative spin on Jeopardy! You don't get much better than that, folks.
a few years ago--maybe six--a young lady from FAMU was on the show. she didn't win, but she did very well. we were all so very proud of her, and she seemed to be a very pleasant person, a great personality. she represented the university very well, as i know the new contestant will do.
ReplyDeleteIt's time for those "TERRIBLE 2's" TO SHOW UP and SHOW OUT. GO FAMU!!!
