Brainy, beautiful women grace The Quad everyday. Some wear colorful, embroidered shirts with Greek letters. Some don pin-stripped business suits. Others rock the latest designer sunglasses and jeans.
However, two women who are visiting today will have accessories that few others in The Quad's history (or for that matter, American history) have ever worn: wedding rings from a U.S. presidential and vice-presidential candidate.
That’s right. Less than 24 hours after the first presidential debate of 2008, Michelle Obama and Jill Biden will be at one of FAMU’s most famous gathering places. Together, they will host the “Change We Need Voter Registration Rally” at 10 am.
Many Rattler students are so excited that they’ve opted out of attending this weekend’s Atlanta Classic football game.
“Oh my God!” Jennifer Jones exclaimed on The FAMUan’s website. “I will finally not miss something I really want to see and be a part of. I missed Obama at FAM. I am NOT missing Michelle & Mrs.Biden. You couldn't keep me away if you slapped me.”
The rally carries no admission charge and is open to the entire public.

FAMU has always been at the political forefront. It's good that we are continuing the tradition of hosting prominent politicians -- and in this case, the wives of -- on our campus and listening to the good and influential words they speak.
ReplyDeleteHillary came when Bill was in office. This is great news, I hope that the turnout is awesome. I sure wish that the word had gotten out much sooner! I'd have made plans accordingly even with the ATL classic happening.
ReplyDeleteWas sent a picture of our granddaughter at the rally. We're so proud of her getting involved instead of opting to party. She's more serious about her education than we could ever hope for.
ReplyDeleteDon't let your graddaughter fool you. She is certainly partying more than she'll ever let you know.
ReplyDeleteHi HATER!
ReplyDelete10:28PM, she can party all she wants (she IS an adult) as long as those 3.50s keep rolling in. Don't hate! Ccongratulate.
ReplyDeleteLooks like 10:28 didn't party enough...if the Presidential candidates and past Presidents can party hard as hell, why can't college students? LOL
