The Florida A&M Rattlers ran, and passed, past the Tigers of Tennessee State this afternoon to improve to 3-1 on the season. The Rattlers' 28-21 victory extend their Altanta Football Classic winning streak to seven games, and gave head coach Joe Taylor his 200th career victory, making him one of nine Black College coaches with that distinction.
FAMU handed, previously unbeaten TSU their first loss of the season and dropped them to 4-1.

I am glad the game was on TV. I was able to watch the game on Versus. I hope DSU slips up so FAMU can win the MEAC
ReplyDelete250,000 dollars and the not only have we matched the total wins of last season, but anyone who talks to any of the players know that we have a different football program! Now, having said that, I want "us" to get out of the mindset of winning the MEAC. We need to think National Championship and we will not obtain that playing and thinking MEAC level football. Therefore, weshould at least have two out of conference football games against a Ga.Southern or some other serious powerhouse in Subdivison Championship Football.
ReplyDeleteI think we are on our way though, because I believe that Taylor sees in FAMU something that he could never have anywhere else he has been and that is a real history and a chance to be apart of returning that history to the hill.
I think winning the championship was always the goal, however because we have wasted so much time trying to get it right it's only natural to think this way and the short term. True rattlers understand what the real goal is and Coach Taylor have been made Aware
ReplyDeleteGood game Rattlers. I hope our fans come out strong when we play SCSU this Saturday.
ReplyDeleteGo Rattlersssssssssss
I love out of conference games, but OOCs against white schools need to be at Neutral sites where we split the money. Too many times, the black school visits YT, and its THEIR best attendance in 5 years. When they visit us, we'd be lucky to get the players' parents.
ReplyDeleteFAMU AT GA Southern would be their highest attended game. At Bragg, it would get 18K. Play them at a neutral site where we split the money, as they are too afraid to be the minority in the stadium, even for 3 hours.
Go Rattlers! Billy Joe said,"We can get a team, I need a PROGRAM"! We are on the way, thanks coach Taylor.
ReplyDeleteYes the TV coverage was great to have. My family was able to watch FAMU on split screen as I've always wanted. We get together on game days and watch two games at a time. More often than not, we would put the A&M game on full screen. The coverage of the bands was also groundbreaking and unique to the HBCU football television experience. If we notice it or not, we are changing the format of college football one game at a time. Go Rattlers! Ask HOW, instead of WHY.
ReplyDeleteFAMCast has been doing a great job with broadcasting the games also...
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work !!!!
I agree with you all ^5 to FAMU Football...
