FAMU Trustees today will get an update on how well the university is performing on the Board of Governors Performance Base Funding metrics. What they will hear will not likely be good.
The university failed to meet its goals in 6 of 10 categories, based on a graph contained in the Board documents.
Between 2018 and 2019 the percentage of FAMU bachelor's degree graduates employed one year after graduation decreased by 2.8 percent from 66.7 to 63.9%. During that same period the medium wage of graduates employed one year after graduation also dropped by $1,400, from $33,000 to $31,600. And, the percentage of bachelor degrees awarded within programs of strategic emphasis fell 3.7% from 58.9% in 2018 to 55.2% in 2019.
The university showed slight improvement in year-over-year performance on its four-year graduation rate moving from 21.6% to 22.5%, but failed to reach its goal of 25 %.
