The Bryant Years: A Legacy of Shame!

Bryant led FAMU into the light
The Castell Bryant years began on a high note as the plain spoken, tough talking, Jasper, Fla. native told FAMU alumni that as interim president that she would be responsible for fixing all of the university's problems, no matter who created them or when they started. Little did we know, at the time, that she would create twice as many problems and fix very few.
• Six months after taking over, Mrs. Bryant was claiming victory. She said she'd erased a reported $52 million deficit and created an $8 million surplus. She did all this by taking away everyone's cell phones and firing 26 "slackers" at the Institute of Urban Policy and Commerce, one of whom publically refered to her as a "lame duck MF".
And to tout her successes, she published a glossy, error ridden, publication called 300 Days into the Light. The publication that had so many grammatical errors that it had to be pulled back and republished. The total printing bill -- $50,000!
Rattlers would later term the Bryant Presidency as 800 Days of Living Hell !
• Mrs. Bryant didn't just stop at the $50,000 "puff piece." She sought and received Board approval to spend another $200,000 of University money to revive "A&M Magazine," which she used as her personal instrument to tell us all just how well she was doing.
• Along the way, she established many important, lasting relationships for the university with companies such as the Hollins Group and KPMG.
• Two months into the Bryant Administration we learned that paying faculty and staff wasn't high on her priority list. In Feburary 2006, as many as, 15 adjunct professors complained of not being paid.
By Feburay 2007 the number of employees not being paid had mushroomed to over 600. The persistent pay problems threatened a total meltdown of the university as unpaid students and faculty across the campus went on strike. Castell's pay mess garnered the attention of the national media and Florida legislators.
• For the outstanding job she was doing the Board rewarded her with a $50,000 raise and $35,000 bounus.
• In April 2006, a festering fight between the professional staff in the College of Pharmacy and the novice college president had reached the boiling point. It seems that Mrs. Bryant thought she knew more about what the College of Pharmacy needed to maintain it accreditation than the staff of the college did.
By Feburary 2007, Mrs. Bryant's "my way or the highway" approach to dealing with real problems within one of the University's flagship programs had resulted in the College of Pharmacy being place on probation by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.
• By July 2006, we'd begun to understand that Mrs. Bryant's reported $8 million surplus was actually a $10.4 million deficit.
• Through it all, FAMU managed to be named the best college for African-Americans by Black Enterprise Magazine in September 2006.
However, FAMU's enrollment continued to drop as one of the nation's most successful student recruitment programs had been dismantled.
Meanwhile, the SBI 8 achieved victory in their grievance against the university and were awarded a year's salary.
Later, the FAMU BOT decided to settle, out of court, with former FAMU football coach Billy Joe who was the target of Ms. Bryant's wrath. Joe also won a full years pay.
• By October 2006, Mrs. Bryant had picked a fight with the over 50 year-old FAMU Federal Credit Union over the use of the FAMU name. Ms. Bryant attempted to extort 3/4 of a million dollars from the credit union for the right to use the FAMU name.
• By January 2007, we'd learned that Mrs. Bryant and Debra Austin had probably been in on a controversial plan by the Florida Board of Governors that would strip FAMU and severval other universities of their graduate programs. The Pappas Report was crafted while Mrs. Austin served as SUS Chancellor and Bryant was a member of the Board.
• In March, with her days clearly numbered, Ms. Bryant stepped up her plans to destroy FAMU by plotting to give FSU full control of the FAMU/FSU College of Engineering and cancelling the Federal Direct Student Loan Program.
By now growing problems created by Ms. Bryant began to surface to the top prompting legislators to jump on the band wagon demaning that FAMU's problems must be fixed!. Meanwhile, so much for her January 2006 promise to be accountable for all problems, Ms. Bryant began to point fingers at past presidents. Heck, if George Gore were around she would have even blamed him too.
• By April 2007, with growing student unrest and the worst audit in FAMU history it became clear to all that FAMU's relationship with Ms. Bryant needed to be terminated and quick.
With all her friends falling by the way side --Jeb, Debra, Regina, Willie George, and Challis-- a defiant Mrs. Bryant also called it quits.

RN, now you know you oughts to quit your madness! That slide visual of CVB is more than a notion. You know you didn't have to go there! Props to you, my friend! I absolutely love it. RN helped to get Castell up & rolling down I-75, and we ain' mad atcha for doing what needed to be done.
ReplyDeleteThis was excellent chronicle of Castell's Incompetence.
ReplyDeleteHow did you manage to leave out the law school from this discussion?
ReplyDeleteSomeone needs to look into whether Ms. CB was/is behind defying a Judge's order to reinstate, with back pay, the former IT director at the COL.
ReplyDeleteThe Judge ruled that the dismissal was without merit and that she was/is to be returned to work with back pay (almost two years worth to this point).
FAMU Atty's have not complied with that order and FAMU is in danger of being sanctioned by that Judge. Not only is the clock ticking on the back pay issue, Famu is at risk of recieving penalties (in the form of money) as a result.
I know FAMU has money problems, but wouldn't it be better to at least try to comply with the order
instead of risking further embarrassment and penalties as a result of the non-compliance.
A non-lawyer must be making this decision for FAMU and the Atty's involved don't have the guts enough to press the issue home. In the end the University will have to pay.
The case has been sent to an appellate court for resolution, but I'll tell you right now that an appellate Judge will rule in her favor because the case was garbage from the begining. There is no point of law that FAMU can hang their hat on (The Administrative Judge established that fact when he handed down his ruling).
Most of the people involved with the termination have been either demoted or fired as a result of their testimony during the hearing in which the ruling was made.
By the way, the COL web site has not been up-dated in almost two years.
Hey, we also left out her now famous and all too frequent battles with Julian White and her attempts to muck up the band.
ReplyDeleteHas Liz McBride and the rest of Castell's administrative team tenured their resignations too on or before the May 31st date? Atty. McBride was/is unprofessionalism and imcompetant personfied!
ReplyDeleteJanie Greenleaf is stupid, Lizzie Mac is incompetent, Altha Manning doesn't know her rear from a hole in the ground; Debra Austin should never, ever have been provost, with her I-didn't-know-what-I-was-doing, old, tired-assed self, and "MonkeyMaxey Who Needs a Makeover." The rest of the money-grabbers who kissed more rear than a lil' bit--oughts be real proud of themselves. Surely you look in the mirror each morning and see just how pathetic you are. Ane you do know who you are. No names are necessary.
ReplyDeleteWhile we're still writing about castell, the old girl's probably settled on the couch, watching Raw Hide counting all the $$ that she's still gonna get paid via her contract which runs through June,, figuring out all of her investment options that she has with the $$. She is not thinking about FAMU and we shouldn't be thinking about her sorry ass, either. We need to just move away from any further discussions about her and concentrate on newer stuff that's coming up. I know it's difficult to just let the discussions die, but we (alumni groups, RN, newspapers, etc) have run that woman out of town, so let's begin to let it (and her) go.
ReplyDeleteI think it would have been great to put in the National Science Foundation fuckup. Gainous had this thing handled, and Castell almost screwed us up with getting NSF research dollars by renigging on the deal.
ReplyDeleteWhen you read all this, it makes me wish that all we had was a failed D1A football move.
Don't forget the closing of the FAMU Room at the airport. Another, no-brainer.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous said...I know it's difficult to just let the discussions die, but we (alumni groups, RN, newspapers, etc) have run that woman out of town, so let's begin to let it (and her) go. 5/16/2007 4:40 PM
ReplyDeleteCastell was on campus today in 400 Lee Hall. Our work is not done!
RN...you gotta do a section on her battles with Doc White and the 100. Thanks for all of your stories.
ReplyDeleteI am praying, because it is so hard to not wish evil on this woman (but how does one wish evil on someone who is already evil personified?!?). Revenge is not for us and we don't know what God's plans are and I would never try and predict His Plan.
I am truly prayin on this one (and my feelings about the death of Jerry Falwell). I'm trying not to gloat over her downfall, but it sho is hard because sometimes it just feels good to think about her unceremonious exit.
I shall continue to try and be aware of how I should behave and think.
With the comments about spelling and grammar that crop up here from time to time I thought I should point out a couple of mistakes in the headline.
ReplyDelete"Bryant led FAMU into the light" should read, "Castell lied FAMU into the blight!"
;-)
6:25, our work is indeed done. Remember, Castell's contract doesn't expire until the end of June, and in that regard she has reason to be in Lee Hall, whether she's "working" or not. Now mind you, I didn't say that the woman has every "right" to be in Lee Hall, just reason to be there. Personally, I don't think she has a right to be anywhere near the campus, much less in a building located on the campus. To be honest, I wish there was reason for the police to escort her out of the building if they see her up in there. There's no telling what she's doing--probably trying to shred documents that would (probably and most likely will) implicate her somewhere down the line in a distant future not too far away. I think the woman got out of Dodge in an effort to dodge a bigger bullet that we have yet to discover. Watch what I say.
ReplyDeleteTHE BLACK ON BLACK HATCHET MAN AND THE DUO CELL BUNNY JUST KEEP ON GOING!!
ReplyDelete(written April 38,, 2007)
Today, while sitting in the park at Lake Ella in Tallahassee Florida I noticed out of the corner of my eye a Black man who was walking as if he had many physical tragedies to consider. He was making short walking movements as he moved his feet never bringing them off the ground, dragging each foot ahead of the other. His left arm was held in a half bent position close to his chest and his hand was closed with his finger sticking in the air. His arm trembled as he gradually made his way up the sidewalk. I found my self-looking too closely showing my concern and pity for his obvious condition. Then something hit me. I knew this Black man. I said as a reflex, “Mike??” He stopped, showing his usual wide toothy smile, “ye, man its me” This was a tragedy.
The Mike I knew was my fraternity brother. He was a muscular Brother who played football. In the eighties he roomed with me when he and his wife were having marital problems. He worked hard and was in school at FSU working on his doctorate I understood. He was a man of many women. When staying with me, he had a woman in the morning as he was shaving in the bathroom, a woman at noon, and a woman at sleep time. He would always say, “Man these women need these proteins (they were giving him a head job)” I had my one Jamaican girl morning noon and night and was truly satisfied.
In the morning he would get up early and run two miles before bathing and breakfast, my food of course. He never seem to put his clothes in the hamper therefore, the room always smelled like a barracks, funky. I could not get him to clean his surroundings and help buy food no matter what I did. I hate to admit but I was happy when he finally left—owing we rent money of course.
But here he is a broken Black man looking as if he was my Grandfather! He finally told me his story.
He was divorced from his first wife but all his children were out of school. His second wife gave him two more children but he held two jobs to make it. One day he was driving home and he had a stroke, an aneurism, and a heart attack!! His wife divorced him and he has been on the street for two years. But he says he is getting better, but better than what.
Mike’s problems started when the Florida Department of Labor was making changes. He asked, “Jim what ever happened to (Al Ma).?” You know I have never had another job with benefits and security sense she came to the Department and fired all the Brothers. She destroyed a whole lot of brother’s lives. Brother Orr had taken many years to get us in these positions and it took six months for Al Ma to cut all that out”
Al. Ma was once the Deputy Commissioner of Human Resources, Florida Department of Education, Now only a very few thinking people which may include Betty Castor, taught that she had done anything good for Human Rights! Like some other Blacks Al. Ma had again proven that whites pick a Black leader based on how little they do for Blacks and how little time they spend in the Black Community. The few Blacks, who know Al. Ma at all know that the only reason she got the positions of Chief Bureau of Student Support and Academic Assistance and Deputy Commissioner of Human Resources is that Commissioner Castor felt she owed Al. Ma relative Representative Doug Jammerson something for his support in steering the Education Accountability Act through the legislature. It was not for the services Al. Ma provided to Blacks or community.
The public should know that AL Ma's never has really done nothing for no Black folks. In the time she was in both positions and even before her appointment. Sources say that in Al. Ma's first staff meeting as Bureau Chief in 1989 she told Black and white staff that she had too many Blacks in "her Bureau." This was remarkable seeing that without these Blacks who were hired by the way before she came, the Department of Education would look terrible in the eyes of EEOC. But if that is not bad enough sources say that Al. Ma never gave a Black a promotion or raise as long as she was bureau chief. I know personally that Al. Ma never used a Black firm to perform any service although many firms made their services available. Out of a budget of one half Billion dollars Al. Ma could have done a little business with some minority.
Further, it seems that further Al. Ma chose not to give The Homeless Program the prestige and importance it deserves because the person in charge is a Black and did not want to give FAMU the contract to perform the functions. In fact it is reported that Al. Ma told this person that as long as she was there as director she would not get a raise or a promotion.
Again as Al. Ma informed another Black person as she was preparing to leave the department that her position as Program Director would not be filled by another Black as long as she had anything to do with it. Al. Ma and Frank Scruggs must be cut from the same cloth. The only motion Al. Ma made toward the Black community was designed to impress Castor not to serve Blacks that is why Al. Ma took the presidency of the social club called Linxs. She trotted a young Black girl, who was a teenage parent around to all notable functions to show the commissioner her relation to the Blacks community.
Doug should help his family get ahead but why can't he pick a real Black member of the family? Al. Ma get off Jamerson's back. Go on your own. Do the right thing and Commissioner Castor we will support you in spite of Blacks who do harm.
After Al Ma’s retirement with three retirement checks coming in she chose to join the team appointed by Governor Bush as FAMU leadership which proceeded to devastate the professional and support of the institution for nearly three years!!
There is a more general concern that may occur to us here-Why do Blacks, who, permit themselves to function as hatchet men to fire other Blacks think that they should be proud of what they do and push on to more of the same. It is easy to understand that at some time in your life you may need to terminate another Black income situation on that particular job. But this for Blacks is the task that a racist system would like you for doing. But again are you proud of this task and in a general way why should perfect this as a chosen function/task and push on to higher numbers.
Too many times Blacks are hired to perform the unpleasant task of firing Blacks just because they are Black. It is easy to understand that if a Black person is doing the firing it is more difficult for Blacks to claim “racism!!” But these hatchet men Blacks seem to be proud and like the little "duo cell bunny"which keeps on going and going and going. Even after retiring these peculiar Blacks come back to practice their mean and cruel task. There are some Blacks, who are retired and have two or three retirement checks coming in and still come back to do it again. It would be interesting to get from them a statement of the reason they continue to press on!
One of the classic examples of a Black Hatchet man (woman) came to an end on May 12, 2007. Bill Cotterell, FLORIDA CAPITAL BUREAU POLITICAL EDITOR, article published May 12, 2007 entitled “FAMU's Bryant resigns” states in part, “Citing a "high level of tension and political activity" swirling around Florida A&M University, interim President Castell Bryant (CB) submitted her resignation late Friday. The blunt-spoken and sometimes confrontational Bryant made her departure official as of May 31, a few weeks before James Ammons assumes the presidency. After two and one half years and at a price of about 900,000 dollars Dr CB interim President of FAMU steps down! (http://frabklyspeaking.info, Jeb War On FAMU)
In 2004 then Governor Jeb Bush personally recruited Dr.(CB) as the clean-up interim President o FAMU, the second most successful Land Grant University in the country. How and why did this happen?
In the 2000 presidential election, which G. W. Bush was, selected President by a Republican Supreme Court, the FAMU students were instrumental in creating and maintaining a protest about a flawed election process in Florida and the nation. Governor Jeb Bush could not get then FAMU then President Humphries to intercede and stop this FAMU student activity. It was reported that the Governor vowed that he would make FAMU pay for this defiant affronted. Shortly after the election President Humphries resigned under a threat of an aggressive audit of the institution. After two succeeding presidents Jeb Bush personally picked Dr. CB as the “hatchet” person to run and punish the university. CB was a retired Black woman, who had university administrative person with several retirement checks under her belt. She became the classic “Black“ on Black terminator of over 200 careers of Professional and nonprofessional employee. This created a three-year rule of horror for all Blacks at the institution. A look at the affect this had on the personal and professional lives of these Black citizens is a tragedy of grand proportions!
Clarence Pendleton (CP), Jr. was named by President Regan as chairman of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. He was its first black chairman and held the position until 1988. As chairman of the Civil Rights Commission, CP provoked criticism by taking stands against several established tenets of civil rights reformers. He opposed school desegregation through busing and believed that affirmative action programs detracted from the achievements of those who could have succeeded without them.
During his time as chairman, congressional funding for the Commission he orchestrated a huge in the Commissions budget and greatly reduced and many top staff members. These staff members- either fired or left in disillusionment over the direction of the agency. Pendleton was known to respond sharply to his critics and was unwavering in his approach- Congressional Commission on Civil Rights under Reagan he was another Black hatchet man but with an national big knife. CP was hired to dismantle the National Civil Rights Commission, which he did forth with.
Then there was J. C. Watts (JC). Watts’s father stated in part, “ The choice to become a black shill for the Republican Party may have been a wise career move, but it is a position He likened him to "a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders."
It is the individual human tragedy that makes you see the cruel nature of the Black hatchet people!!

JEB’S WAR ON FAMU!!!
Jeb-G. Dubbya don’t forget Hussein threatened daddy (Downing Street Memo, Year 2000).
G. W.-Yeh, Jeb as soon as possible I’m gonner pay him back.
Jeb-Yeh, G. W., now how about me declaring war on California or maybe Massachusetts?
Jeb-Oliver North and J. liddy are not really busy now.
G. W.-No, Karl says that you can’t make war on another state. It won’ look too good. Besides, we already own their oil.
Jeb-But there always has to be a first time, Bro.
G. W.-But Jeb, you can’t forget the way that jigger school attacked me in 2000. They can’t be allowed to get away with that. That is your war!!
Jeb- “I got something for them though. This is war!! I’m going to strangle them with their own mother’s milk! I’m going to give them three tits fully loaded and when they get blotted bellies I’ll let the bitch get her liquor back. They will not know when they are drunk or why they are drunk. We keep the TV camera on then. The minute you put a camera of the jigger their mouth fly open and they start to dance a jig right over the cliff!!”.
G. W.-Yeh Jeb, money is like that. I sure wish they had some oil though.
But, G. W. Maybe I can declare war on Cuba then they have sugar. We can control making fuel out of this sugar. We already have the Guantonimo Gulag for a jumping off place. Well, Jeb I don’t know about that. I will ask Cheney if you can get away with that.
But now Jeb, back to that Jigger school. What was its name? FAMU isn’t it? You must take my revenge for me! Popper would like that. Move the President and start to appoint some Jiggers leaders with the profiles The Republican Party has set-up of a good Jigger! Come on up and you can spend some time with Thomas and Rice to get a feel for a good Jigger.
Well G. W. I have already started to put in my Jigger Presidents and intend to keep them moving until I see that they have destroyed this school. I have moved three Presidents in as many years!
Say Hay, Bro do you realize that this FAMU Jigger school has four past and present President on salary now at the same time!! They are spending about $! Million dollars plus a year benefits for presidents. No other school in Florida is showing such high malfesiences? I will keep the money moving so fast that they will strangle on their own greed. Every Jigger in the known world will be looking at this as their chance to cut the others’ throat to get their time in the sun. They will be so confused from their ego and blood lust that they won’t even have a football team and you know what that means to a jigger (Billy Joe out st FAMU, Capital Outlook, June 14, 2005). His whole reason for living will be gone. His day in the sun will be a distant memory! They still can get their fried chicken, whisky, tight pussy and a warm place to shit. This seems to keep them tranquil and happy. Bro, these Jiggers are buying Lexus, Jaguars, million dollar homes, and traveling all over the place on this unreliable income. They don’t see the disaster coming.
This latest Jigger (Bryant) is perfect. She is a real Sapphire looking for Amos, Andy and Hoochie Mama to gig. I’ve started grooming her years ago (Ron Matus, To fix FAMU, she brings a heavy hand, StPeretsburg Times, June 20, 2005). I started her in the Community College system. Her own father said that raised her as a son and told her to find a good woman and settle down, Ha, Ha, Ha!!. She is a Son-of-a-Gun!! She will have to earn her balls every day!
Between her Estrogen and Testosterone surges she will screw up the mind of every male who has any semblance of a backbone and make sure that the women know who has the bigger balls in this fight. Never ask a man to do what a manly girl can do better. This President has them all beating the monkey every day. This is like a super, vicious. Bloody Mary Queen of Scotts. How about sending Bolton down as administrator of the Grants for Black Education Institutions. Give him a day or two and the school will be the south campus of FSU.
But I am still busy turning the state into a “Corporate State Government." By 2006 all Florida state services and resources will be privatized with the exception of the Governor’s office. The Florida State Police is the last to go. Like to wicked “Bitch” of the west said, “ The last to go will see all the other agencies go before them.” No Jeb, Karl says that it was the wicked “Witch” of the west who said that. G. W., he is right but you haven’t met this President! Jeb, don’t you worry, if it looks like you are loosing I will declare FAMU a terrorist training institution and send in the National Security Strom Troopers!!
As a true and loyal Alumni of FAMU I say, “God save the Queen; and then save FAMU!!”

ReplyDeleteWhy would anyone talk about the Law School. That would be like talking about the cousin in jail that no one wanted anyway and does not want to acknowledge.
Will someone PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE tell me WTF J. Alva Scruggs is talking about? If this is the kind of rambling (and writing) he did on anyone's job, it's no wonder the man was dismissed. He sounds like a madman but also a mad man. The man is off his meds, obviously. Jesus.
ReplyDeleteyour guess is as good as mine. I have no idea what he's talking about and was wondering was I the only one who thought that. But obviously I am not. Whether he is mad or a madman, I really don't know. The entire jury has not rendered a final one on that question yet.

Okay, listen carefully. Put the crackpipe down and slooowly back away. We're not going to hurt you.
Y'all thought Gainous was bad, but the Cast-Hell Bryant Administration was the worst in FAMU History. All of this connects to Jim Corbin the puppet-master who created this chaos and began afixing his negative stamp on the university at the end of the Humphries administration because he hated Fred. Let history reflect and not let Corbin off the hook.

J. Alva Scruggs, you're crazy. Nothing you have written on this blog has made ANY sense. You ramble, talk in circles, talk in squares, and talk in triangles. Nothing you say is understandable. You just sit and type the craziest mess that comes to your crazy head. No one can make sense of the madness and mayhem that you've spewed on this sit. Surely, if you are not ON meds, you need to be, and if you are on med, then obviously, you have forgotten to take them. What's wrong? Seriously. Who are you mad with (and at). ReplyDeleteHow about using some decency and curtesy in terms of what you post? Only post what you would have the courage to say in person.
Too often this forum for writng has become an easy way of maligning other people's character in the cloak on anonymity. To quote your recent post:
"Who are you mad with (and at)".
Please keep your cruelity and malice out of this. Thanks in advance.............
I don't profess to be an expert, but if you're going to post "books" (like Dr. J. Alva Scruggs seem to like to do) it should at least be pertainent to the topic and not off in dark corners of someone's neurosis.
ReplyDeletej. alva is crazy. simple as that.
ReplyDeleteFAMU IS BACK IN THE FRONT PAGES OF THE PAPERS TODAY. THEY REPORT THAT FAMU IS ON ACADEMIC AND FINANCIAL PROBATION. TO GET SOLUTIONS FOR THESE SUPPOSED PROBLEMS THE PAPERS HAVE TAKEN TO THE STREET AND CAMPUS TO GET STUDENTS AND OTHER UNFORMED TO PROVIDE THEIR ASSUMPTIONS. THE STUDENTS OF COURSE CEASE THE OPPORTUNITY TO SAY ... SOMETHING, USUALLY SILLY AND UNFORMED. THE CITIZENS MAKE THE USUAL GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER COMMENTS WITH THE RACIST SAYING THAT BLACK ARE INCAPABLE OF RUNNING ANYTHING. THE REAL SOLUTIONS ARE LEFT TO THE "LEADERS' WHO HAVE THE BACKBONE TO FIRST SAY WHAT IS REALLY WRONG, THE INTRUSION OF NAR-DO-WELLS AND WRONG-WISHERS TO LET FAMU DIE QUICKLY. WHAT IS REALLY NEEDED IS TO FIRST GET THE VULTURES OFF FAMU'S BACK AND SEAL THE DOORS SO BUSINESS CAN BE DONE.
ReplyDeleteBRYANT SLAPS FAMU ON THE WAY OUT!!!
ReplyDeleteCastile Bryant former interim President of Florida A. and M. University, seems not to have heard the wisdom of the saying, “If you cannot say something good about a person then say nothing at all!!” In an interview on July 23, 2007 Bryant took the time and opportunity to give FAMU a firm back handed slap in the face and a thumb in the eye and a cloud of dust as she rode her specter broom into the mist as she said that the students at FAMU were about a two on a four scale and the factulity could not be rated because they had no clear purpose!!” Bryant said further that she would not recommend FAMU to students.(Bill Cotterel, Bryant skewers FAMU's culture, Article Jul 23, 2007 ) http://www.tallahassee.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artikkel?Dato=20070723&Kategori=NEWS01&Lopenr=707230318&Ref=AR&Show=0&template=printart
If it is true that Jeb Bush handpicked Bryant in 1005 to complete the punishing of the university for the activities of the university in protesting and demonstrating against the election of G. W. Bush, Bryant has done a terrific job. (Jeb’s War on FAMU, http://dc.indymedia.org/newswire/display/124823/index.php) Bryant has destroyed the professional lives of some 200 staff at FAMU, decreased the student enrollment approximately thirty percent and on the way out after two + years and about $700,000.00 dollars turns back and give the institution a raspberry and a Bronx cheer.
